Project Details:
In Earlington, Kentucky, a 200,000-gallon drinking water tank faced a familiar issue: leaking seams. As is common in older, glass-lined bolted steel tanks, the passage of time had taken its toll on the joints and structure. But thanks to an expertly applied solution, this essential part of the local water infrastructure has been given a new lease on life.
To address the problem, Jay Hoffman, of Wet or Dry Tank Inspections selected CIM 1000 Trowel Grade, a urethane elastomeric coating specifically engineered for demanding waterproofing applications. This high-performance material was used to seal seams and restore the tank to a watertight condition—without the need for costly replacement.

CIM 1000 TG not only adheres to steel and other common construction materials but is also NSF/ANSI 61 certified, making it safe for use in potable water systems. Its trowel-grade thickness and ability to bridge cracks make it an ideal choice for restoring aging infrastructure.
HPP Industrial supplied the product, ensuring reliable and timely access to the materials needed for the job. The result? A reinforced water tank prepared to serve the community for years to come..
